Production Management Team
Daniel Speer, Director of Production
Daniel is in his fifth year with Sun Design and has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years in real estate development and management. As Director of Production, Daniel oversees the entire production department including training and education. Prior to working for Sun Design, he was Production Manager for United Investments where he was involved in site supervision, contract review, design review, scheduling and inspections for mutitiple crews. Before that, Daniel was Production Manager for Appletree Construction and Construction Manager for World Missions Team Outreach/City Church.
"Working at Sun Design allows me to utilize my years of experience to manage a large production team who produces quality projects for our clients in a creative and fun environment. I enjoy using my strengths in training and education to keep our production department on the cutting edge of the remodeling industry." On the weekends, Daniel likes to spend time with his grandson Jaden and other family members. He enjoys gardening, cooking, boating and taking care of his pet goats- Andy and Percy.
Daniel is married to his wife Linda of 29 years, has 5 children, and one grandson.
James Denney, Senior Production Manager
James joined Sun Design in 2010 after more than 22 years not only as a carpenter but as a production supervisor, manager, construction consultant, builder and manager of projects that included electrical, gas, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, painting, excavating, roofing and operating heavy machinery. As Production Manager, James is responsible for overseeing the production staff to include field staffing schedules, problem solving within Production, Sales, and Design departments, as well as client expectations, quality control field inspections, and mentor for all field personnel. Before Sun Design, James was owner/builder of Casadi Construction Company for five years in Stephens City, VA, where he built and remodeled kitchens, bathrooms, additions, basements, decks and patios. Among his many projects was a 10,000-square-foot house in Fairfax. Before forming his own company, James was project manager and supervisor with NVS Kitchens and Bath where he managed teams of carpenters in all aspects of the building process. James holds a Class A contractor license from the Virginia Board of Contractors.

The upper management not only has the wisdom to allow this but actually embraces it. Some really great ideas come from some unexpected places and people, making the innovativeness and growth potential boundless.” James loves to spend time with his wife and kids and also likes to venture out to learn something new. He’s active in his church and enjoys reading, hunting, and fishing.
Jeff Nichols, Project Manager
Jeff is celebrating his 10th year with Sun Design. He manages several building crews and focuses on providing clients with a great experience. In addition, he is on Sun Design's board of advisors and provides critical insight from his hands-on experience in the field.
Jeff has more than 25 years in the construction business and has the designation of Certified Remodeler from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. He has won the Certified Lead Carpenter Award of Excellence from NARI twice, most recently in recognition for teaching the Certified Lead Carpenter certification class. Jeff has also received many Contractor of the Year awards for the projects he has managed over the years.
Jeff says, "I like working for Sun Design because it is fun and a great balance of work and family life." His favorite hobby is boating with his family.
Rob Moss, Project Manager
Rob has been managing projects for Sun Design since he joined in 2006. He is responsible for running multiple jobs simultaneously. Rob works to make sure the company delivers a quality product on time, on budget and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
Rob has been working in the residential construction business for a number of years and has the designation of Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Before joining Sun Design, he was an Assistant Project Manager with Galloway Timberframe Construction.

In Rob's spare time, he enjoys sports, spending time with his family, mission work and volunteering with the youth program at his church.
Paul Roberson, Project Manager
Paul has been on the Sun Design team for more than two years and has been in the construction industry for 20 years. As a project manager, he oversees several jobs at one time to ensure that all processes are going smoothly.
Paul says, "I like working for Sun Design because of the overall team effort to accomplish client satisfaction." His hobbies include motorcycle riding and spending time with family and friends.
